WESTPORT – The original house at 55 High Point Road was built in 1955. The Building Department issued a demolition permit for that house in August 2021.
The demolished split-level house had 2,200 square-feet of living space on one story, three bedrooms, two and a half baths, a raised basement and a wood deck.
On the property today stands a 4,700-square-foot, 2-story custom Colonial design, with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a half-bathroom, a basement area, a garage, an open porch, a stone terrace, a finished upper story and an unfinished attic.
The property traded hands in 2018 for $925,000. It had traded in 1996 for $395,000.
The assessed value of the property was $597,200 in 2020 and is $1,397,700 today.
High Point Road is off of Long Lots Road.
