FAIRFIELD — The Fairfield Museum and History Center’s seasonal cemetery tours are back, and tickets for the experience are selling fast.
The museum is offering a daytime walking tour of Mountain Grove Cemetery at 10 a.m. on Oct. 24th, as well as lantern light tours of Fairfield’s Old Burying Ground at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 28th, 29th, and 30th.
The tours will discuss the stories of prominent people buried in these cemeteries, including Revolutionary War figures Caleb Brewster, Samuel Smedley, and Eunice Dennie Burr. Guides will also discuss topics such as burial practices in colonial New England and spooky legends from Fairfield’s past.
Pre-registration is required, and the tours are recommended for ages 12 and up. For more information, click here.
