WESTPORT–The Westport Country Playhouse’s 95th season has had a memorable week.
On Saturday, its one-night-only fundraiser From the Page to the Stage, featured Broadway, television, and film talents singing songs from productions dating back to 1935. Beth Huisking, Playhouse managing director, said: “We expect the night to have raised in excess of $250,000.”
Monday night, Tom Hanks joined esteemed actors Wendie Malick and Tony Shalhoub in a sold-out reading of the new work Portrait of a Woman in Repose. Written by Nicky Glossman and directed by James Glossman, the play for three veteran actors is about art, memory, survival, and what it means to restore what has been lost.
