WESTPORT — With the blossoming of spring, it’s time for Westport to come clean.

That’s according to the Parks and Recreation Department, which is organizing a townwide cleanup on Saturday, April 22.

Nearly 30 community groups and civic organizations have been invited to participate in the cleanup campaign, according to Parks and Recreation Director Jennifer Fava.

And “even if you are not part of any of the organized locations,” Fava said in a press statement, “you can still help clean up Westport by taking a few minutes on this day to clean up litter along your street or any public space.”

Groups that plan to join the initiative should contact the Parks and Recreation Department — at 203-341-5091 — by April 14.

Participants should specify the location and time of their work areas, so town crews can collect bagged garbage and debris from the adopted spots.
