WESTPORT–Two changes to the guidelines regulating Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) will be on the agenda of the Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) on Monday at 6 p.m.
Members of the public, according to P&Z Director Michelle Perillie, will be invited to speak at the meeting.
The proposed changes–text amendment 880–would allow 1. an additional four vertical feet to be added to an ADU over a detached garage and 2. otherwise permitted ADUs be connected through shared walls or floor/ceiling assemblies.
Currently, the maximum height of an ADU over a garage is 26 feet; ADUs must be fully separate from other dwellings.
The zoom meeting will be accessible on Optimum Government Access Channel 79. A link to the zoom meeting is here.
Written comments from the public may be submitted and should be sent to PandZ@westportct.gov by noon Monday, if intended to be distributed for consideration by members of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Written comments received after noon Monday will be added to the record but not be distributed until the next business day.
Meeting materials are available here: P&Z Pending Applications & Recent Approvals.
