
STRATFORD — Corsair Day is returning to the Connecticut Air & Space Center this weekend, with several events celebrating the iconic World War II fighter.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 3rd. Corsair Day celebrates the Chance Vought 4FU Corsair, declared the official state airplane of Connecticut in recognition of how the fighter was first designed and built within the Nutmeg State.
Corsair Day will feature two special presentations. At noon, author Stephen Chapis will give a video presentation on his book Poor Little Lambs: The Baa Baa Black Sheep Story, which delves into the 1970s television show. Aviation historian Jerry O’Neill will give an in-depth discussion of the center’s FG-1D Corsair at 2 p.m.
The Connecticut Air & Space Center will also be showcasing a half-scale Corsair replica.
