WESTPORT — A celebrated music promoter and the co-founder of an iconic pop band have joined the lineup at the Westport Library’s upcoming VersoFest.

The library announced that Peter Shapiro and Susanna Hoffs will be appearing at the music and media festival, which runs from March 26th to 29th. Previously announced guests include Wyclef Jean, Gina Gershon, and Ani DiFranco.

Hoffs, co-founder of The Bangles, will make an appearance prior to the main festival. At 7 p.m. on March 6th at the Westport Library’s Trefz Forum, she will perform songs from throughout her career and have a discussion with journalist and rock memoirist Alisyn Camerota. Tickets to this event at $50.

The Bangles were a major band of the 1980s, with several hit singles from three platinum-selling artists. She began a solo career in 1991.

Shapiro is an independent music entrepreneur who has owned several concert venues and produced a number of successful music festivals. He is also the publisher of Relix magazine, a concert film producer, and the creator of FANS, an immersive livestreaming platform that allows audiences to tune in and appear alongside artists.

At noon on Sunday, March 29th, Shapiro will appear at the Westport Library’s Trefz Forum for a conversation with Dean Budnick, who is the author of seven books and editor-in-chief of Relix. The duo will discuss the legacy of The Grateful Dead and the development of the jam band scene over the years, including their tendency to have fiercely loyal and devoted fan bases. Tickets are free, but registration is required.
