WESTPORT — A conversation with Ani DiFranco, a Grammy Award-winning folk rock musician, will mark the start of festivities at the Westport Library’s four-day VersoFest 2026 event.
The library announced that DiFranco will visit the library’s Trefz Forum at 7 p.m. on March 26th to sit down with Lauren Coyle Rosen, co-author with DiFranco of The Spirit of Ani: Reflections on Spirituality, Feminism, Music, and Freedom. The book, which will be released on March 3rd, explores DiFranco personal experiences and her reflections on her creativity, spirituality, and evolving consciousness.
DiFranco founded her own record label, Righteous Babe Records, in 1990, and has released 23 albums over the course of her career. She has also published a collection of poems and paintings entitled Verses, a memoir entitled No Walls and the Recurring Dream, and the children’s books The Knowing and Show Up and Vote. In addition, DiFranco recently appeared on Broadway, performing the role of Persephone in Hadestown in 2024.
Coyle Rosen is former cultural anthropology professor at Princeton University and is the author of several nonfiction books as well as poetry and art collections. She founded The Spiritual Muses, a website on creative inspiration, and is a fellow at Harvard University.
VersoFest’s schedule will also include a concert by the rising rock group The Thing on Feb. 27th and a headline act by Wyclef Jean on March 27. Tickets to the conversation with DiFranco and Coyle Rosen are $35 and include a copy of The Spirit of Ani.
