DARIEN–The Wreckers field hockey team challenged another close rival yesterday, and came up short.
Late in their 2-1 loss to Darien, the Wreckers had several chances to tie the score, but the Darien defense and goalkeeper held firm.
Staples’ only goal was scored by Tyla Ozgen with the assist from Sophia Fidalgo on a penalty corner kick.
The team will play its third game in five days tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. at home against Fairfield Warde.
