WESTPORT–Two formidable defenses met yesterday on the pitch at Loeffler Field.
The Danbury Hatters hadn’t allowed a goal all season. The Wreckers had only once allowed a ball to completely cross their goal line.
But, in the 54th minute a Hatters penalty kick zoomed toward the back of the goal. Keeper Jacob Greenberger miraculously grabbed the shot, preventing the Hatters from scoring.
The match remained scoreless to the end. Both teams remained unbeaten, with 2-0-2 records.

The Wreckers have only one day off. They’re back in action Friday, with a 4 p.m. contest at Westhill..
