WESTPORT – The Building Department issued a demolition permit in November 2012 for the single-family house on the five-acre plot at 15 Hermit Lane. Four new houses have been built in its place; 2 Stonewall Lane, the fourth and final house on Stonewall Lane, was completed and occupied last year.

The original house at 15 Hermit Lane, built in 1950, was a single-story ranch with 2,400-square-feet of living space.

2 Stonewall Lane is a 2 ¾-story custom design. Its 6,400-square-feet includes seven bedrooms, six full bathrooms and two half baths, an unfinished basement, a garage, a porch, a stone patio, a finished upper story, a partially finished three-quarter-story and a finished attic.

The vacant lot traded hands in 2020 for $672,500. The finished house sold for $3,250,000 in October.

The assessed value of the property was $499,000 in 2019 and is $1,896,800 today.

Stonewall Lane is off of Hermit Lane, which is off of Red Coat Lane.
