WESTPORT — Registered Democrats interested in running for town office in this year’s municipal election are invited to attend a March 9 forum, hosted by the Democratic Town Committee, to learn about the candidate-selection process.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9, in the Westport Library’s Komansky Room.

Election Day this year is Nov. 7, and political parties’ endorsements of their candidate slates are scheduled to be made in July.

Local Democrats, according to an announcement from party officials, will be fielding candidates for seats on the Board of Education, Board of Finance, Planning and Zoning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.
