WESTPORT–For the holiday season, Westport’s on-demand Wheels2U shared shuttle service will offer free rides between Christmas and New Year’s Day.
From Dec. 26 through Dec. 31, the service will waive the usual $2 fee for all.
“We’re thrilled to offer this holiday gift to our riders,” said Peter Gold, co-director of the Westport Transit District. “Whether you’re commuting, catching a Broadway matinee, visiting family or enjoying Westport’s shops and restaurants, Wheels2U is here to make your trip smoother and more festive. No parking hassles, no cold walk from your car to the platform, no scraping ice off your windshield when you return—just hop on and go! Try it for free and see how easy it is!”
Karina Betfarhad, the district’s other co-director, said the service will help students get around town on their holiday break.
“Middle schoolers and high school underclassmen can use Wheels2U to meet friends safely and independently,” she said. “Whether it’s breakfast or coffee in Saugatuck, pizza or shopping in the afternoon, or a study session at the Westport Library, we’re making it even easier to get together with friends to socialize or prep for upcoming midterms.”
