WESTPORT–Filling your weekly larder with fresh produce, baked goods, meat and fish is now a lot easier.
Courtesy of the Westport Transit District, any Westporter can get a ride to and from the Westport Farmers’ Market, during its operating hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays.
Rides are arranged via the Wheels2U app, available for both Apple and Android users. The app operates much like Uber and Lyft. And, according to Peter Gold, Director, Westport Transit District, “new Wheels2U app users can get their first five rides free.”
The Westport Farmers Market, now in mid-summer bounty, is at its peak of fresh vegetables – tomatoes, corn, cucumbers, zucchini, basil, eggplant, green beans, etc.
“Wheels2U’s door-to-door service means you don’t have to hassle with driving, parking, or negotiating the hectic parking lot,” said Peter Gold, Director, Westport Transit District.
The summer Westport Farmers’ Market will operate every Thursday until November 13.
