WESTPORT — The annual plant sale, sponsored by the Westport Garden Club, is set for Friday on Jesup Green.

The sale, which marks the club’s 98th year, will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, on the green abutting the Westport Library. It will take place rain or shine.

Advance orders can be placed online by clicking here.

More than 1,000 home-grown perennial plants from club members’ gardens will be on offer, as well as a special section of plants native to Connecticut, according to the club.

There also will be a selection of decorative container gardens, planters with edibles and herbs, special tomato plants and roses, organizers said.

Every plant will have a tag with information on its care, and club members will be on hand to offer gardening advice.

Proceeds from the sale support the club’s civic projects, including maintenance of local public gardens, parks, Wakeman Town Farm’s border garden and Federated Garden Clubs of Connecticut education grants.
