WESTPORT — Paint the town red … or orange … or black … or pink.

Adorn the town with ghostly gloss, or super-hero bold strokes, or tones regal enough for a princess, or dark shadows suitable for a witch’s web.

Young artists are invited to cast a spell over Westport on Oct. 22, joining the annual Halloween Window Painting Contest sponsored by the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce.

Windows at local businesses will be decorated with Halloween themes by contest participants between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, according to event organizers.

The paintings will be judged over the following days, and prizes awarded to children in three categories for elementary and middle school entrants.

Winners will receive a gift certificate from Gofer Ice Cream.
