WESTPORT — A “Recovery Celebration,” planned by organizers to support people recovering from substance abuse, will take place Oct. 9 at the Westport Library.

The event, sponsored by Liberation Programs, will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, featuring a panel discussion on ”discovering and maintaining resources to sustain long-term recovery,” as well as remarks by U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker.

Moderated by broadcaster Craig Melvin, the program also will include music and refreshments, according to a publicity release.
