He grew up in Bronxville, NY, the son of Edward and Jean Maloney. He had a large and loving extended family including 15 in-laws and 21 nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother James Maloney and sister Barbara Maloney.
Peter fought a long battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis but was determined to live his life to the fullest until the very end. He was proud of his career at Bloomberg where he worked for 28 years, retiring just this past July. He loved to spend time outside, whether it was on a golf course, swimming at Compo Beach, or going on a hike anywhere from Redding, CT to the Catalonia Coast of Spain. Most of all, he loved spending time with Carol, the love of his life, as well as his family and friends, all of whom brought him immense joy and laughter.
A mass will be held at St. Luke Church on Monday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. with a reception following at The Inn at Longshore.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please consider a donation to the Bronchiectasis Research and Education Fund at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons or to West Haven Community House.
