WESTPORT — Diwali, a Hindu festival of lights, will be observed locally with a Nov. 5 program at MoCA Westport.

The event, organized by AAPI Westport, will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at the museum, 19 Newtown Turnpike.

The observance “represents the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness and wisdom over ignorance. It is a festival of new beginnings, an auspicious day,” according to the local festival organizers.

The free event is open to the public and, weather permitting, activities will take place outdoors.
