
WESTPORT–Comedian Colin Quinn, known for his standup performances, one-man shows on and Off Broadway and a Saturday Night Live stint that included three years hosting Weekend Update, will bring his New York-style humor to the Westport Country Playhouse on Oct. 9.
The show starts at 8 p.m.
The Brooklyn native has been a comedian for decades. At Saturday Night Live, he began as a writer in 1995, later became a featured player and graduated to a full cast member for the 1997-98 season. He hosted the Weekend Update segment from January 1998 to 2000. He is also known for MTV’s “Remote Control,” and Comedy Central’s “Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn.”
On Broadway, he performed the one-man shows “Colin Quinn: An Irish Wake” and “Colin Quinn: Long Story Short.” His Off-Broadway shows were “Colin Quinn: Unconstitutional,” “Colin Quinn: The New York Story,” directed by Jerry Seinfeld, “Colin Quinn: Red State, Blue State,” “Colin Quinn: The Last Best Hope” and “Colin Quinn: Small Talk.”
Other credits include a role in the 2015 Amy Schumer-led movie “Trainwreck” and his web series “Cop Show,” now streaming on his YouTube channel. His book, “Overstated: A Coast-to-Coast Roast of the 50 States,” was published last year.
