WESTPORT–Restaurant Week starts tomorrow, offering meal deals at 18 restaurants and eateries throughout the town. Despite the name, it lasts two weeks, from Sept. 25 through Oct. 12.

Presented by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce, the gastronomical event is part of the continuing “Eat Local” campaign to promote area restaurants.

“I know I am not the only foodie out there and this event is for them with the wide selection we have to offer,” said Matthew Mandell, executive director of the Chamber. “We want people to eat local and realize Westport has the best dining scene in Fairfield County.”

Participating restaurants will offer prix fixe deals of $25 or more for lunch and $35 or more for dinner, depending on the restaurant. An exception: Little Pub at Dunville’s, 41 Saugatuck Ave., will offer a $20 burger and beer deal. Most offer both meals, some offer either lunch or dinner.

One eatery, Boathouse, at 521 Riverside Ave., will also offer brunch for $35.

The meals are not available every day in every restaurant. Check the chamber’s website at www.westportwestonchamber.com/restaurantweek for menus, exact prices and days the deals are offered.
