Jen Greely, a Westport artist, is one of 16 artists who will be featured in the “Surfaces & Spaces” exhibition at Wilson Avenue Loft Artists during Open Studios Weekend.
An opening reception will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, October 24th. The exhibition will be on display from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th. Wilson Avenue Loft Artists, which encourages relationships between artists and the community, is located at 225 Wilson Avenue.
Greely is an experimental printmaker and abstract painter. Her artist’s statement says that her work is created in parts over the course of months or years, and “plays with repetitive shape and line, resulting in dynamic compositions that invite exploration of universal human emotions such as joy, adventure, ennui, fear, anger, grief, and love.” More information on her work is available at jengreely.com.
The participating artists will make a contribution based on the proceeds from the event to support scholarships for graduating seniors at Brian McMahon High School and Norwalk High School. Donations will also be collected during the Open Studios event to support this cause.
“Surfaces & Spaces” is curated by Betsy Jesup, an art advisor for over 30 years who is also the owner of the Handwright Gallery in New Canaan. More information is available at wilsonavenueloftartists.com.
Expanded coverage of Fairfield County cultural events is made possible with support from the Fairfield University Quick Center for the Arts.
