WESTPORT–Coming off a 2-1 win over perennial rival Darien on Thursday, Staples field hockey had an easier time in a 10-0 triumph over visiting St. Joseph of Trumbull on Monday. Seven Wreckers scored in the trouncing.
Leah Larit, Katie Larit, and Lucy Hill all scored twice and Mary Stevens, Ava Pattinson, Oakley Wilson and Eve Dolan also scored.
Ella Ledenko, Hill, Leya Chaves, Dolan, Pattinson, Catherine Cirasuolo and Daisey Hackett recorded assists.
The Wreckers are 10-0 overall and will host FCIAC foe Wilton (8-1-1 heading into Tuesday’s visit to Ridgefield) Saturday at noon. The Wreckers have won more than 20 games in a row.
Wilton has lost only to Fairfield Ludlowe (a team Staples defeated 3-1) and played Darien to a scoreless tie.
