WESTPORT–The annual PAL fireworks display at Compo Beach was enjoyed by thousands of landlubbers–and hundreds of sailors.
Saugatuck’s Sea Kayak Connecticut offered a three-hour fireworks tour on fireworks night, Thursday, July 2. A few dozen adults and children gave paddlers a unique perspective on the pyrotechnic display from the mouth of Saugatuck Harbor.
David McPherson, the owner of Sea Kayak and the tour guide, said, “After a sweltering day, the light breeze and cooler temperatures Thursday night created the perfect evening to paddle out and view the Compo Beach fireworks. The show was spectacular from our vantage point on the water. This year’s event was longer than previous years and appeared to use more technically advanced pyrotechnics.”
