WESTPORT – The Lady Wreckers dominated Westhill on Friday night at Staples in a 42-24 win, raising their overall record to 6-5.
Senior captains Sydelle Bernstein and Mia Didio led a balanced scoring attack with 13 points and 12 points respectively.
“It was a great team performance,” Paco Fabian, the head coach, said. “We played a lot of kids. We were dealing with a couple of injuries and tonight was a really big team effort. I kept going into the scorebook and looking at who was scoring, and the whole team was contributing.”
With the end of the season in sight, Staples’ main focus is to reach the championship tournaments.
“Our goal is to qualify for the state and FCIAC tournaments,” Fabian said. “We’re doing a good job. We’re close, but we have some really important games coming up, and the next two weeks are really going to determine the end of our season.”
