TRUMBULL–Staples won impressively Wednesday night on the road at Trumbull.  In a test for the young Staples squad — and their experienced core players — Staples moved the ball well and controlled play for most of the game. 

Five different Wreckers–Tyla Ozgen and Emma Nahon twice, Emma Larit, Charlotte Strange and Jess Leon–scored goals, with assists by Leon and Strange (two apiece), Ozgen and Sophia Blum. The defense was dominant, in what has become a smothering run for the Wreckers, who have outscored their opponents 53-2 in their seven-game winning streak.

The win improves Staples Field Hockey record to 9-1-1. 

Staples next plays Monday at home at 4 p.m. against St. Joseph’s.
