
WESTPORT–Staples boys basketball defeated visiting Greenwich 66-39 Friday night. The Wreckers remain unbeaten at 10-0 (6-0 in FCIAC play). The Cardinals fell to 3-5 (2-4).
The Wreckers took control of the game early, seizing a 19-4 lead after one quarter of play and 36-17 advantage at the half.
Sam Clachko scored 18 points and handed out 10 assists to go along with three steals.
Austin Heyer scored 10 points and had two rebounds and two steals. Matty Corrigan also logged 10 points to go along with a block. Mason Tobias had nine points, five rebounds, two assists and a block.
Jack Jacob scored seven points and grabbed three rebounds. Henry Veissid scored four points and had four rebounds. Dhilan Lowman had three points, five rebounds and a pair of steals. Drew Hill had three steals as the Wreckers finished with an 11-5 advantage in takeaways.
The Wreckers host Wilton (8-3, 4-2 in the conference) on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
