WESTPORT — A Greenwich man faces charges in connection with what police call a domestic violence incident earlier this year.
Robert Matturro, 59, was charged Oct. 15 with first-degree criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.
An investigation was launched last May 9 when a report filed with police alleged that a former boyfriend — later identified as Matturro — came to the complainant’s home and began banging on the door.
When he was denied entry, Matturro went to the home’s unlocked back door and entered the dwelling, where he was confronted by the complainant, police said.
An argument ensued when Matturro refused to leave, police were told.
When Matturro finally left, the complainant alerted police because the suspect allegedly had been violent during similar past incidents, according to the report.
A warrant for Matturro’s arrest was issued, and he was taken into custody Oct. 15 at Greenwich Police Department headquarters where he was being held.
Matturro was transported back to Westport, where he was formally charged and released after posting $1,000 bond. He was scheduled to be arraigned the next day at state Superior Court in Stamford.
