WESTPORT–The Zoning Board of Appeals is accepting applications to serve as a Democratic alternate on the board. Any interested resident must be a registered Democrat. An alternate member is elected for a four year term and will be called to sit for a member when they are absent or need to recuse themselves from a specific application. The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) consists of five elected members, who are electors of the town; no more than three may be members of the same political party. The term of office is four years.

In addition, there are three alternate members of the Zoning Board of Appeals, no more than two may be members of the same political party. The term of office is four years.
