WESTPORT–No one can say the Staples High School Class of 2026 can’t multi-task.
Even as the class pushed the boundaries of the number of extra-curricular activities they were involved in while at school, 19 of them achieved the distinction of High Honors.
A High Honors seal is awarded if the student’s academic grade point average falls within the top four percent of the graduating class.
Each year, between 18 and 22 graduating seniors achieve high honors, school officials say.
Principal Stafford W. Thomas, Jr., called the class extremely talented.
“The most astonishing aspect of this accomplishment is that these students were involved in a number of extracurriculars and various aspects of school life,” Stafford said. “These activities took a great deal of time, focus and concentration outside of the classroom as well. We were lucky to have had them for four years, and we will no doubt be hearing about their next great achievements in the years to come.”
