WESTPORT — The October “Students of the Month” at Staples High School have been announced.

They are: seniors Catherine Cunningham and Sydney Griffiths, juniors Olivia McCaffery and William Holleman, sophomore Gianna Amatuzzi, and freshmen Lucas Baer and Kaylin Manning.

The Students of the Month program “recognizes students who help make Staples High School a welcoming place for their peers and teachers alike,” according to an announcement from Principal Stafford Thomas Jr.

The students selected for the award are nominated by their teachers, and in short, “are all-around good citizens of our school,” the statement adds.
