FAIRFIELD — Curious about how plants and animals endure the chillier months of the year? The Connecticut Audubon Society will be presenting a five-part adult learning series on this topic, with the first course taking place this week.
The Winter Naturalist Program will run from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21st, at the Fairfield Nature Center. Courses continue through February 18th.
Staff from the Connecticut Audubon Society will lead discussions on New England wildlife and habitats during the winter, including which species remain active, which ones respond by hibernating or relocating, and which ones visit the region for the season. All courses take place at the Fairfield Nature Center with the exception of the final one, which will discuss the shoreline in winter and take place at Sherwood Island in Westport.
