WESTPORT — Watch out! Wicked weather this way comes.

It may not be the weather shock delivered by the Halloween blizzard of 2011, but the spectre of hazardous weather haunts the next several days in southwestern Connecticut.

Torrential rain, likely flooding and gusting winds are forecast for Westport and the region by the National Weather Service.

The possible pre-Hallo’weather washout is predicted to start late Monday and continue through Tuesday, into Wednesday morning, according to the NWS.

Included in the “Hazardous Weather” forecast from the NWS are a flash flood watch from 8 p.m. Monday through 5 p.m. Tuesday, and heavy rain — along with possible thunderstorms — overnight.

The weather service also issued a coastal flood advisory from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, particularly for “more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline.”

Heavy rain, and potential thunderstorms, are expected through most of Tuesday, along with wind occasionally gusting up to 40 mph. High temperature Tuesday will be only about 60 degrees, according to the forecast.

Rain is expected to taper off Wednesday morning, but the NWS says the day will remain mostly cloudy with a high temperature again about 60 degrees.

After a sunny Thursday, inclement weather haunts Friday and Saturday with clouds and showers possible both days.

But Sunday likely offers a reprieve for trick-or-treaters, with no threat of rain, partially sunny skies and temperatures in the low-60s, according to the weather service.
