WESTPORT–The Public Safety Depart has issued a town-wide ban on parked cars on town roadways.

Further, the department advises residents in low-lying areas to move their vehicles to higher ground.

Heavy snow is expected to begin later this afternoon with the most dangerous conditions occurring between midnight tonight and 9:00 a.m. Monday. The department said it is expecting a total accumulation of 18 to 24 inches.

Wind gusts could cause widespread power outages. The department recommends that Westporters make sure their devices are charged.
