WESTPORT — An outpouring of community support for the town’s animal shelter is the goal of a Nov. 20 fundraiser at Greens Farms Spirit Shop, 1250 Post Road East.

The event, from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, will benefit Westport Animal Shelter Advocates from the sales proceeds of Taconic Whiskey at the store.

WASA, meanwhile, has posted information about several of the dogs now available for adoption at the animal shelter. They include:

“Parker,” is an 8- to 9-year-old male described as “funny, playful and very affectionate.” He has tested well with other dogs, according to WASA.

“Tank” is a “big, lovable” male about two years old, WASA says. The dog is up to date on vet care.

“Tinker” is a 6- to 8-year-old mix that was abandoned in a pile of rubbish. She is being brought up to date on her vet care, WASA says.

“Daisy” is described as a “very sweet” one-year-old left tied to the door of the Connecticut Humane Society and now is a guest at Westport Animal Control. She is currently at Schulhof Animal Hospital for vet care, including spay surgery, according to WASA.
