
STRATFORD — The Connecticut Air & Space Center is offering a chance for visitors to see vintage military aircraft up close and personal this weekend, including the opportunity to take flight.
Warbird Weekend runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day from Friday, June 5th through Sunday, June 7th. Several historical aircraft will be featured at the event, including:
- A P-51 Mustang, an iconic World War II fighter plane
- An AT-6 Texan, used as an advanced trainer for fighter pilots from the 1940s through the 1970s
- A Fairchild PT-26 Cornell, one of only 250 ever built
- A PT-13 Stearman, a biplane that served as a prolific training aircraft during World War II
- An L-39 Albatros, a high-performance Czech jet trainer
Visitors ages 12 and up can book a ride on these aircraft, although availability is subject to change based on the weather and other factors. The event also features reenactors, vehicles, other aircraft displays, food trucks, and more.
