WESTPORT — A three-day celebration of what organizers call the “people’s instrument” will play out at several Westport venues over the weekend.

The 6th annual “Connecticut Guitar Festival,” with most events planned at MoCA Westport, runs from Friday, March 3, through Sunday, March 5. For details about the festival schedule and to reserve tickets, click here.

Events will showcase guitar performers in a range of styles, including classical, rock, jazz, world, folk and more, according to festival organizers. Also planned are master classes and lessons, and an arts event.

The festival kicks off Friday with a 7 p.m. concert featuring performances by classical and contemporary guitarists. The event will take place at MoCA Westport, 19 Newtown Turnpike.

Tickets, which cost for $40 for adults and $20 for students, can be reserved online by clicking here.

The concert will showcase performances by classical guitarist René Izquierdo and contemporary guitarist Jordan Dodson.
