WESTPORT — Braiden Sunshine, a 2015 semifinalist on “The Voice,” will be the guest performer at the Sept. 3 “First Folk Sunday” concert.

Sunshine, a Connecticut native who was 15 years old when he appeared on the television talent show, will join series regular Suzanne Sheridan at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, at the Joseph J. Clinton VFW Post 399, 465 Riverside Ave.

When Sunshine appeared on “The Voice” he was mentored by singer Gwen Stefani. “I really can’t wrap my head around how young he is,” Stefani said, according to a First Folk Sunday publicity release. “And people at home don’t realize how much work it is to be on the show. It’s learning the songs, long hours, and there’s a lot of pressure. For a 15-year-old boy to get to the semifinal, he’s a star now.”

Sunshine, the opening act for a recent Leann Rimes concert, now writes and performs his own music, “with a taste for pop, rock and blues,” according to the singer’s website.
