GREENWICH — The Greenwich Historical Society is debuting its fourth annual exhibition from the My Story, Our Future community program this weekend, showcasing stories of South Asian immigrants.

The exhibition opens on Sunday, Feb. 1st and will run through March 1st. The exhibition will be on view at the Greenwich Historical Society’s lobby.

My Story, Our Future is a collaborative effort organized by the India Cultural Center and the Asia and Asian American Studies Institute at the University of Connecticut. Local students learned how to interview family members on their experiences as immigrants to North America from South Asia, and subsequently showcase these oral histories and other meaningful artifacts that connect with these stories.

The exhibition aims to share stories about South Asian American youth identity in Connecticut, support the state’s K-12 Asian-American/Pacific Islander curriculum, and support CT Humanities’ call for inclusive stories as part of the state’s America 250 celebrations.

Visitors can hear the oral histories on-site or on Spotify.

Expanded coverage of Fairfield County cultural events is made possible with support from the Fairfield University Quick Center for the Arts.
