WESTPORT – A celebration of the holiday and winter seasons will take place this week as the Music on the Hill Festival Chorus visits Westport.
“On this Silent Night” will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5th, at the UU Congregation in Westport. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door, and children and students are free.
The singers, accompanied by harp and strings, will perform songs that celebrate Christmas, Chanukah, and the “simultaneous stillness and expectation of the winter season.” The pieces include Yoni Fogelman’s “The Everlasting Flame,” Luke Flynn’s “Winter Lullaby,” Sarah Quartel’s “On this Silent Night,” and Mack Wilberg’s “Deck the Hall.” The program also includes familiar carols, and the audience is invited to join in the singing.
