WESTPORT — Films will be in focus when MoCA Westport hosts its first “Film Salon” next month.

Two documentaries about the art world will be shown Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10-11, at the museum, 19 Newtown Turnpike.

Documentaries slated for screening are:

“Jay Myself,” Saturday, Dec. 10, 3-6 p.m.: Focuses on photographer and artist Jay Maisel as he “begrudgingly” sold his home of nearly 50 years — a 35,000-square-foot, 100-year-old landmark building in Manhattan.

The documentary was directed by photographer Stephen Wilkes, a Westport resident. Wilkes will appear after the screening for a “conversation” about the film.

“The Art of Making It,” Sunday, Dec. 11, 3-6 p.m.: Looks at a diverse group of young artists, exploring the dynamics of why some achieve success and others continue to struggle.

A discussion with Gisela McDaniel, an artist featured in the film, will follow the screening.

People attending the Film Salon screenings also can visit the current MoCA exhibit of paintings by Marian Christy.
