Staples girls basketball tops New Canaan

NEW CANAAN — Staples girls basketball team picked up its second win of the season Friday, defeating the hosting New Canaan Rams, 43-39.

Freshman Addie Talbott, in her first start, scored 17 points and had six steals in a strong all-around game. Center Riely Gullans had 15 rebounds.

The Wreckers improved to 2-4 overall heading into a home game at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Brien McMahon of Norwalk. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest CIAC updates.)
