WESTPORT — Warm musical tidings, despite winter weather, will be in the air Jan. 22 at a concert by the “Orphenians,” the renowned Staples High School choral ensemble, at the Westport Library.

An “Aloha Cabaret” will be performed by the 47-member group at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, to raise money for a trip the Orpehnians plan this summer to the International Luau of Song Choral Festival in Hawaii. The library is at 20 Jesup Road.

To reserve tickets, ranging in price from $150 for general admission to $225 VIP access, click here. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

“Aloha Cabaret,” in addition to showcasing performances by the Orphenians, will include Hawaiian-themed appetizers as well as a silent auction.

Host for the program will be David Pogue, “CBS Sunday Morning” correspondent, and Kelli O’Hara, award-winning singer and actress, will make an appearance. Both are Westport residents.

“This trip is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for these student musicians,” Luke Rosenberg, the Orphenians musical director, said in a publicity release for the concert.

“We want to make this unique musical, educational and cultural experience possible for every member of the ensemble,” Rosenberg added. “This evening of music aims to raise funds to help cover expenses for those who cannot afford all or some of the associated costs of the trip.”
