WESTPORT — Staples girls soccer team kicked off Class LL State Tournament action with a convincing 4-0 win over visiting Norwich Free Academy on Friday.

Natalie Chudowsky, Maddy Johnson, Sammy Selig and Riely Gullens all scored as the No. 6 Wreckers eliminated No. 27 NFA. Annabel Edwards had two assists, and Taylor Lunney and Keala Cohen each added one assist.

“Very dominant performance from the girls — controlled it from start to finish,” Staples Coach Barry Beattie said.
