WESTPORT — Two kayakers who capsized off Cockenoe Island on Friday morning were rescued by marine officers from Norwalk and Westport, according to the Norwalk Police Department.

Two Norwalk police sergeants, Ramon Tejada and David Geismar, were able to pull the kayakers from the water and transport them to a Westport marine unit, according to the posting on the Norwalk police Facebook page.

Both kayakers were wearing personal flotation devices, according to the report.

Information from Westport emergency-services was not immediately available.
