WESTPORT — Few things in life are perfect, but in a 10-0 win over visiting Danbury on April 21, Staples High pitcher Chase Siegel was, in fact, perfect.

Siegel tossed a six-inning perfect game. No hits, no walks, no Hatters reached base. Siegel recorded his last out in the fifth, and watched his team’s bats secure his mound domination.

The game ended an inning early when Staples plated two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for a mercy-rule triumph.

Taylor Brundige and Jack Farnen both drove in two runs to lead the offense.

The Wreckers were edged in their next game, a 5-4 Westhill of Stamford victory Monday.

Staples, with a seasonal record of 7-2 (4-1 in FCIAC play), heads into a Wednesday game at home against Wilton; first pitch will be at 4:30 p.m.
