WESTPORT — Goals by Charlotte Strange and Adela Ardrey, along with another dominant defensive effort, propelled the Staples High field hockey team to a 2-0 win over Greenwich in the FCIAC tournament quarterfinals on Friday.

The No. 3 seed Wreckers blanked No. 6 Greenwich, a team it lost to 3-2 during the regular season. The Wreckers have shut out five straight opponents.

Up next is a date with No. 2 Wilton, which defeated the Wreckers 4-1 this season, in Tuesday’s semis (game time to be determined). The winner will advance to Thursday’s championship match at neutral site Brien McMahon at 7 and face either No. 1 Darien or the winner of No. 4 New Canaan-No. 5 Ridgefield which takes place today.
