The concert is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the café, 10 Lyons Plains Road. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

There will pizza and other refreshments following the performance.

A portion of the concert proceeds will be donated to the Connecticut Food Bank, according to event organizers, and attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items to help support the food bank’s efforts fighting food insecurity.

Grammy Award-winning Dan Zanes and Haitian-American music therapist/jazz vocalist Claudia Zanes have performed together since 2016, according to a publicity release, making what NPR called “the gold standard in kids’ music.”

In 2017 the Kennedy Center commissioned the duo to create a theater piece for young audiences, “Night Train 57: A Sensory Friendly Comic Folk Opera.”

In March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dan and Claudia Zanes started what they called a “Social Isolation Song Series,” performing a new song online for the next 200 days, according to the release.
