WEST HARTFORD — STORMAC (Staples/Norwalk/McMahon) boys co-op hockey team saw its season end Monday, with a 3-1 loss to Conard in the first round of the Division III state tournament at Veteran’s Memorial Ice Rink in West Hartford.

No. 3 Conard went on to defeat No. 6 Masuk of Monroe 3-2 in overtime of the quarterfinals Thursday.

In STORMAC’s first-round game, Berkeley Johnson was assisted by Shane Power on a first-period goal. 

The game was tied 1-1 going into the second and Conard led just 2-1 going into the third. Goalie Mason Mountain made 36 saves to keep STORMAC close throughout.
