MILFORD — A hat-trick by Harry Goodburn, a trio of assists by Berkeley Johnson and a four-point night by Cooper Paul added up to a 6-1 win for the STORMAC hockey team Saturday at Milford Ice Pavilion.

The Staples-Norwalk-Brien McMahon co-op squad skated past Newtown-New Fairfield for its second straight victory to improve to 2-2 this winter.

Shane Power also scored, Paul logged two goals and two assists, Mac Lawton assisted on a pair of tallies and Thatcher Cullen, Jakub Laskovsky and Devin Harris all had assists.

Uzi Greenman (No. 18) battles for control of the puck Saturday.

Goaltender Mason Mountain stopped 30 shots.

Goodburn scored late in the first and early in the second period for a 2-0 lead.

Clinging to a 2-1 lead midway through the second period STORMAC seized control when Goodburn notched his third tally and Power lit the lamp less than four minutes later.

Paul helped put the game way with a backhander on a breakaway and another tally to cap the scoring. Johnson had the primary helpers on both goals.

STORMAC returns to the ice at 8 p.m. Wednesday when Trumbull heads to Milford. (Game schedules are subject to change; click for the latest CIAC updates.)
